If anyone is still reading this, I am still alive and well. We have been so busy lately and I haven't been taking the time I should to post. It could also be because I haven't been crafting too much (unfortunately).
We arrived in Northampton on Saturday (super fun 7 hour car ride). We are staying a week with Andrew's folks (aka Grandma and Grandpa). I know this is supposed to be vacation but I brought the machine, fabrics, patterns, tulle, etc. Grandma has set up a room just for me to do my thing (thanks!!). I have a great table with a cutting mat, ironing board, good lighting, view of the outdoors, and much more. It's so much better than the dark falling-apart dining room I sit in at home. It's very nice to be able to go into my own little space while Abby is napping and Molly is out playing with Grandma. I have already gotten more done in 2 days than I have in past few weeks at home. Maybe I'll send Andrew home with the kids and stay...
Today we went out for a bit and ran into the local fabric shop. I went out on a limb (thanks for the nudge Andrew) and got these strip kits to try. Andrew has so much faith in me! I completely do not have enough patience to make a quilt, but the woman at the shop ensured me that this was for beginners and those who like quick projects and immediate results. I am all of those things. It's a kit of great coordinating fabrics cut into long strips. You just pick the strips you wants to make your squares with and sew them together. Then cut the that piece into your squares and arrange your quilt. It eliminates all of the cutting work and sewing of small pieces. Sounds easy right? Ha, can you tell I am trying to convince myself?? They also had some of the patterns for sale that were only $3 so I bought two of those as well. She showed me some final products they had in the shop and they were so cute. It ends up making a large baby size quilt. I am excited to try (I think). I may need your help Josie!
So, I am finishing up some orders I have accrued and planning some new projects. I kinda feel like I am still in the game. I have to go to sleep now, very quietly though because our entire family is sleeping in the same room... :)

you crafty little thing you... quilting???

That sewing room sounds like the perfect place to make your first quilt. You are welcome to come by anytime for advice or to use my quilting machine. I swear it makes quilting so quick and easy, you may end up wanting one of your own.
Hope you are all having a very relaxing holiday... there's nothing like a bit of crafting to soothe the soul.

Your space looks lovely! I love working while being able to look out the window. I never knew what those shrip things were for - cool! I think I need to get one of those. Quick quilts, my kind of project :)
